Plastic protection bung with handle for shot blasting and powder coating applications

We received a new product request from one of our customers to design and manufacture a plastic part to protect the inside of a piece of metal framework during shot blasting.  

Here is the result: 

Our engineers have designed a plastic protection bung to go in the end of a piece of metal framework. The metal framework is to be shot blasted and powder coated.

Once placed inside the metal framework the bung stops the shot from going up inside the tube. Therefore the tube can be shot blasted without getting any grit or dirt inside.

The design of the plastic bung provides a handle for the person doing the powder coating or shot blasting. The bung handle can be used to move the framework during powder coating without touching the paintwork.

When the shot blasting is complete and the paintwork has dried the bung can then be removed. The plastic bung is reusable.

The bungs are custom made to meet metal framework dimensions.
